Simultaneous installation of Windows 2000 and Windows 98 SE

Vikram

Hi,

I first installed Windows 2000 and then on another
partition I installed Windows 98 SE. After the completion
the option for choosing an operating system out of the two
did not appear.

Someone told me that Installing Windows 98 SE first and
then Windows 98 SE will solve the problem.

Is this method correct and if possible is their any other
method?

Thanks.

Vikram.

To get a proper multiboot menu, always install Microsoft
operating systems in chronological order, i.e. oldest OS
first. Install Win98 first and then Win2K.

Your problem is easily fixed, but the method depends on
the type of file system you chose for the Win2000
installation. Is it FAT32 or NTFS?

I was aware of that. I want to use a scanner that is only
supported in Win98. Can I format the Win2K partition
in NTFS (for security) and move files from the Win98
partition to the Win2K partition? If not, would separate
hard drives accomplish this?

If by "files" you mean your scanned image files, sure. Win2K
can see and use both NTFS and FAT16/FAT32.
