Simple Scanner Program

I use my scanner to copy receipts into my computer. The scanning program
that came with my HP multifunction printer is too complicated & too many
steps (it thinks I want to edit photos & all that stuff). Is there a simple
freeware program that would be good for this? (I would prefer jpg format).

Irfanview.

Thank you. I've used it for years, I didn't know it would scan also.

Irfanview acts as an integrated front end for the scanner software
through the common interface protocol (I'm blanking on the name). This
may depend on your version of Irfanview. I actually preferred an older
version of IV to the current one for this. The new version dumps out of
the scanner mode with every scan. The former one held that window open
until deliberately closed. IV also has some sort of "photocopy mode,"
and, I believe, some type of "production mode." Check it out.

You're welcome. I regularly find it does things I wasn't aware of.
Though I have yet to find the Cooking and Cleaning settings.
