Simple peer to peer network issue - 'Access is Denied' on some folders

I have an xp pro and a win2k pro networked through a linksys cable modem
router. They are both members of the same workgroup; on both machines
have the same local user account that I use to logon (and same pswd). I
can access all of the win2k folder and files from the winxp. But from
the win2k, while I can access much of what is on the winxp machine, I
cannot access many important areas, for instance the folder hive that
belongs to the profile that I'm logged on to. It must be something
simple? I can get to the "all users" and "default user" folders fine.

I have a third win2k machine in the workgroup; it also can't access the
xp profile folders. It can access the profile folders on the other win2k
machine. I guess something basic has changed about xp and peer to peer
networking?

None of the machines have the built in firewall running. The sharing and
security settings for all folders is the same. The C drive is full
shared.

I got this from a prev post from Tim Kowal:

Go to your Local Security Settings (Administrative Tools), Local
Policies, Security Options, Network Access: Sharing and security model
for local accounts and switch to Classic Mode.

It worked. Thanks Tim. I'd read about 40 other thread before I posted;
but ran into this one right after.
