Simple little query

How can I instruct my IE browser, so that when I click on the "Windows"
button on the taskbar and open a selection from "Favorites," the
browser will open maximized instead of half-screen? Thanks in advance.

Try stretching the small window to full size. (Do not use Maximize)
Ensure that window is the last one closed and IE should remember the
size next time.
