Silverlight and Flash

After repeated pop-ups from MS to install Silverlight (the bastards wore me
down!), I did so. Is this a functional replacement for Flash? Can I
uninstall Flash in lieu of Silverlight?

Not a replacement, but competition. Apps written to run in Flash won't
run in Silverlight. There are lots of Flash apps around, I don't think
there are very many Silverlight apps yet - except on the various
Microsoft pages, of couirse.

Flash and Silverlight are different. One does not supersede the other
They ARE different; but, SL is the MS attempt to replace Flash. So in a
perfect world, it will supercede Flash. Whether it does or not I don't
know; won't touch it out of priciple. In fact, I added it to my HOSTS
file so I'll never see it again.

Nope, not going to Vista. Why?
Simple: It offers me nothing I need nor
even want that I don't already have.
So, why switch? NOT gonna happen.

I doubt Adobe would define that as a "perfect world"!
