Does clicking on the menu, File/Exit or just simply clicking the red 'x' box
in the upper right hand corner not work for you?

When I exit the program ( File/Exit or just simply by clicking 'x' box) it
does exit the program but then when I try to open windows live desktop mail
beta I automatically sign in. I guess what I am trying to say is that I want
to use a nother account to sign in and I have an available account that is
legal to use windows live desktop mail beta. Oh and also when I do exit the
program and try to open it, it automaticaly signs in and doesnt give me a
chance to sign in as a nother account.
pls help thx.

Emad,

Have you tried selecting the option inside the Tools, Passport Sign-in? I
haven't tried it myself, but it seems that that's what you're looking for.

Only way to do that would be to uninstall it. Reboot the computer, then
reinstall and use the other account (which must be an account associated
with Passport, such as a Hotmail address).

If you only want to check mail in other accounts, you can add those using
the menu, Tools/Accounts/Add.

I apologize for Jim's sarcastic response. Windows Live Mail Beta doesn't
require you to physically sign out of the mailbox because you're not actually
constantly connected to it like you would be to web-based email clients. It
signs in, gets your mail for you, and then signs out when it's gotten your
mail and so the user doesn't have to worry about signing out or even mailbox
timeouts. This way you don't have to stress about signing out before you
close the window. Hope that helps :)

dear Antho
here is the problem with this beta: I am not the only one using the computer
so since i downloaded windows live desktop mail beta other people can easily
go through my email without having to even write a password 'cuz it
automaticaly signs in!!! Also you cant even use another account. I think you
need to download another windows live desktop mail beta to use another
account. Anyways if there is no solution for this do not reply 'cuz I think
too much of you time and other member.

I think this is a serious issue. At the moment with normal Hotmail, I have
the choice to log in automatically or each time to require my password. I
prefer the latter, to stop someone easily accessing my mail if I'm away from
my computer. With Live Mail Desktop, someone can just open the program and
they're away!

They are not listening to us anymore so dont bother writing anything about
"signing out". I wrote to them couple of times and they gave me wrong
advises. Frankly I think They dont have a solution for this so thats why they
stopped replying to this "signing out" topic.
