You are using the web interface to read this newsgroup--it's the slowest,
clunkiest, most error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch
to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows.
See http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/outlookexpressnewreader.htm

That is merely your opinion about the Web Interface
I have no problem with it.

Yes, it's my opinion, but no, it's not *merely my* opinion. It is the
opinion of the great majority of people who have tried both in these
newsgroups.

I have no problem with it.

That's fine. If you like it, you are welcome to it. But bear in mind that
you are in the minority of those who have tried both.

Hi
I would like to say thank you to you both i haven't a clue about this
interface but i will read it and the other link works so iam happy now.
It would be nice for M/soft to fix the link!!
thanks again to you both,
Niall

You're welcome. Glad to help.

I don't like the Newsreader way, either.
BUT, I don't tell posters to ditch it in favor of the Web Interface!
Get real!
You are one-sided, and biased!

Thanks Niall.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes here.
He likes one way; I like another.

I could not care less about your opinion.
I answered the OP's question.
Blake shoves HIS preference down the OP's throat.

Another bigotted fool here.
What a surprise!

Just because you can't use the Web interface, lol.

That's nonsense, of course. I shove nothing down anyone's throat, nor could
I do so here even if I wanted to. I express my opinion and my preferences,
just as almost everyone else here--including you--does. And in this case I
express my opinion that the way the OP does it is inferior to the way I do
it, and suggest that he give my way a try.

If he tries my way and doesn't think it's superior, that's fine with me. I
certainly don't think everyone has to have the same opinion I do, on this
subject or any other subject. But I do think that not trying the
alternatives is foolhardy.

Thanks Niall.

Niall, the above two sentence from Mad Mike are correct. But once again,
before you believe either of us, I strongly recommend that you give the
alternative I suggested a good try, and make up your own mind as to which is
best for you. Almost every time I (and many others in these groups) have
made that suggestion to someone, and the person tried it and reported back,
he reported back that it was greatly superior to the web-based method.

I thought our 1st priority here was to answer the OP's question!
I answered him/her.
Or, are you going to disagree with that, too?

I did it the other way round: I'd never used the Web interface until I read
about how some folk thought it was so bad. So I gave it a try to see for
myself, and stayed with my news client; I don't use the Web route unless
there's little choice.

I'd echo the sentiment that others have voiced: one should try both and
decide for oneself. A personal preference can't be criticised, but if the
groups are going to be accessed with any frequency, to not even try the
freely available choices is surely an indicator of a closed mind.

That's my point of view exactly! I feel the same way about what newsreader
you use or what E-mail client you use. My choice doesn't have to be anybody
else's choice. The same is true of operating systems, word processors,
financial management programs, and most other categories. It's only with
categories where you can measure how well something works (for example,
anti-virus programs) that it's appropriate to use what's considered best
rather than what you personally like best.

Hey will you two just chill out!!!!!
it is only a computer and you both have helped me.
So thank you very much.

Everything is OK.
I forgot. Sorry about that.
You are getting sick of the email notifications.

Cheers.
