signature file messing up

My signature file is getting a bit screwy. I see it appear correctly in the
preview window under mail format, but when I go into the editor in OL or when
I launch the "advanced edit" (which, for some reason, does not launch Word
anymore...which may be a problem in and of itself...it launches Notepad, with
plenty of weird text that likely signifies that formatting instructions), it
does not show me the same result that I see in preview. Specifically, in
preview there is no separator line between my 2nd and 3rd lines, and yet in
the final result there is.

Any help?

The Advanced Editor is your default HTML editor set in;
Control Panel-> Internet Options-> tab Programs
