Signature block in logo disappears

When I send emails my signature block has a picture of the company logo.
Many people they do not see it but get a line in the signature block that
says:
<< OLE Object: Picture (Device Independent Bitmap) >>

Should I be using a different format of the logo - .png .bmp .jpg, etc?

You are not providing enough info to work with here.
Which format are you using now then?
Which method did you use to create the signature?
Which message format are you using?
And of course; which version of Outlook are you using?

Outlook 2007 on Windows XP SP2. I created the signature block a long time
ago (10+ years) and imported it into each upgraded version of Outlook -
possibly a .bmp file. I use Rich Text as my default email format.

Why are you using Rich Text? Do you have a specific need for this? Switch to
HTML instead.
