Hi Tom,
The version 4 software for USB Sidewinders is XP compatible, of
course, you have to be using an administrators account to install it.
If it gives you a warning, you can click OK and continue installing it.
I've had the same experiences with USB cam's & other devices. ;-)
It's important to install the software before connecting your FF stick.
I've you've already connected the stick, unplug it, and Remove it from
the Control panel / Game Controllers section.
The version 3 software, isn't compatible. It uses XP's drivers instead
and the Force Feedback support is provided by the games themselves.
