Sidewinder Pro drivers for Windows XP Home

Could someone help me with this problem.
I use Flight simulators and my Force feedback on the
Sidewinder pro does not work under Windows XP Home. Is
there a way to solve this problem without upgrading my
Windows or bying a new joystick?
Thank you.

Hi Jaco,

Here's the instructions for both the USB and the Gameport models:

The version 4 software for USB Sidewinders is XP compatible, of
course, you have to be using an administrators account to install it.
If it gives you a warning, you can click OK and continue installing it.

Make certain you install the software before plugging in your FFback!
I've had the same experiences with USB cam's & other devices. ;-)

The version 3 software, isn't compatible. It uses XP's drivers instead.
USB devices just plug and play. GamePort devices need some work:

To install a GamePort controller, Plug it in, click Start / Control Panel /
Switch to Classic view if you haven't already / click Game Controllers
Click Add... / Select Microsoft Sidewinder Auto Detect / OK / OK.
Force Feedback support would have to be built into the Fl. sim. though.
