Sidewinder Force feedback on Windows XP

Adrian

Hi!
I own a Sidewinder force feedback pro joystick and it
works perfectly with all games running on windows 98.
When I run the same games on Windows XP Pro, the joystick
works but without force feedback.
As far as I know, there is no new driver for this joystick
for XP Pro.
Does anyone have an idea why it is not working?
BTW, the joystick power is on.....

Thanks in advance.
Adrian.

Give this a try

Goto the Game Controller Control Panel
Then Add, Microsoft Sidewinder (auto-detect)...

Please note that any Profiling software that came with the gameport hardware
won't work as that was not designed for Windows XP (or 2000). There are
currently no
plans for updates.

This is the game port device, Adrian? Have you added it in Control
Panel/Game Controllers, selecting Add/Microsoft SideWinder (Auto-detect)?
The system should install the proper drivers for it, and you should be able
to calibrate it after installation. You'll not be able to configure
buttons, except from in-game support, and may need to turn on the force
feedback in the game Options.
