I am running Windows XP with a AMD 2000. I want to
install my older Microsoft Sidewinder Force feedback pro
with a 15 pin connector. I cant load software or hook up
15 pin due to USB con.

Hi Glenn,

You'll be much better off investing in a USB joystick.
You can find adapters for the one you have, but you
will not be happy with the results. Might as well pay
a few dollars more and buy the real thing for X-Mas.

Correct, if you had a gameport (15 pin connector) there are drivers in
WindowsXP to get joystick data from the stick, but the profiling software
for remapping buttons isn't available. Gameport to USB converters won't work
because the devices driver is going to try to communicate with the device
through a gameport and that device doesn't have firmware that can
communicate on a USB in it. You will have to either get a new sound card
with a gameport or a new joystick. I would get a new USB joystick. They are
more reliable and gameport support is pretty much dieing if not already
dead.
