shuts down for no reason

Toshiba PS183C notebook with Windows XP shuts down in the
middle of games and sometimes just while idle. When an
attempt is made to revive it a full system reboot
occurs. Any ideas?
 
Have you checked the event logs for any possible hints as to the nature of
the problem? Also you may wish to fiddle with the Startup and Recovery
settings under System Properties.
