Thanks for the info. I've checked there earlier, but the problem really
didn't apply....What I did find out (Google) is that if I disable the
"automatic update" it might help..I did it and it worked for me...what do
you think??
Disabling the automatic updates can leave your computer vulnerable,
especially if you are not extremely conscientious about checking
manually for updates on a regular basis (and much more often that just
once a month as advocated in another response).
Most Windows updates are issued to correct security problems which, if
not fixed, could leave your computer vulnerable to a hacker attack.
What often happens with these new security updates is that the hackers
and virus creators are among the very first to download these new
security updates.
What they then do is to "reverse engineer" the update so as to
identify the precise location and nature of the security vulnerability
that the update is intended to fix. They then set to work to create a
virus or other attack program to exploit that vulnerability and then
set out looking for computers that have not yet been updated with this
security fix. These are often ready and released within a few days.
So if you are late in getting the new security fixes installed there
is a very much increased likelihood that your computer will be
attacked or infested because of this.
The bottom line - leave the automatic updates function in place. Not
doing so can be suicidal.
Hope this explains the situation.
Good luck
