Shutdown problem

This is posted for a friend who is unable to do so. When he goes to
Start/shut down, the shutdown window pops up OK, but another window pops up
with a message: "NVIDIA TWIN VIEW WINDOWS - this program not responding"
When he clicks on "end now" another window appears with this message: "End
program --- hpoevm08.exe - This program not responding" After clicking
on "end now" this time the computer shuts down after a short wait.

If he doesn't click on "end now" on the first window, the windows remains on
the screen and the PC doesn't shut down.

I don't know if the "hpoevm08.exe" is related to a printer problem (he has
an HP psc 2110 xi (all in one)). I'm guessing the NVIDIA is related to his
graphics card. We're both at a loss and would appreciate some guidance.
Thanks!

If your friend isn't using two monitors, he has no reason to run the
Twin View program anyway. The hpoevm.08.exe file is from your HP
All-In-One printer and apparently gives other people the same problem.
See this post from the HP forums:

The answer to both problems is to disable those programs from running
when Windows starts by going to Start>Run and typing (without quotes)
"msconfig" [enter]. Look on the Startup tab and uncheck the boxes next
to those programs, Apply and OK out. You don't need to restart
immediatley, but the next time you do you'll get a dialog box saying
you've used the System Configuration Utility. Just mark the box that
says, "don't bother me with this again".

NVIDIA TWINVIEW WINDOWS. I think maybe these drivers may not be compatible
with Windows XP. NVidia makes graphics cards, among other things.

Check for latest video drivers here >>
Welcome to the NVIDIA software download page.

hpoevm08.exe is HP printer software.
Read through this for hpoevm08.exe problems.
Apparently a known problem.
