shutdown cycle

I'm trying to stop the shutdown cycle caused by
LSASS.EXE. I follow the abort steps from the microsoft
security page, but when I click start then click run and
type cmd and hit ok I'm suppose to type shutdown.exe -a
and press enter. When I do this my computer won't except
the command. Is it something I can do? I have windows
xp home edition.

Have you ran a scan for viruses, worms, trojans, and for
spyware, and then if found run that removal tool from the
Norton or others site ? And you must turn off system
restore as well if the PC is infected.
