Everytime i shutdown the computer, the windows is also shut down together. It
needs time to start up the windows once the computer open again. Can i shut
down the computer but indeed not shut down the windows. If i open the
computer again, it will start immediate in windows?

1. Open XP's "Help and Support Center".
2. In the Search box type: Understanding Shutdown Options , hit enter.
3. Click on the topic titled "Understanding Shutdown Options".

Hi Joe

"Hibernation" may be what you're looking for.

You can enable hibernation from the power control panel.
1. Click Start
2, Click Run...
3. Type POWERCFG.CPL and click "OK"
4. Click on tne Hibernate tab
5. Make sure there is a tick in the "Enable hibernation" tab
6. Click OK

You should now have the option to "Hibernate" added the the regular list of
shutdown options (Shutdown, Restart etc)

Be aware that hibernation isn't 100% bulletproof. Some applications, device
drivers and even hardware don't take to kindly to being put to sleep so
you'll have to see how well it works for you.

Hope this helps,
Mark
