SHUT DOWN BUTTON MISSING

for some unknown reason, my shutdown button in start menu
is missing. can anybody explain how to get it back and
reason why is missing.
came accross some article about changes in registry? ring
any bells?

You maybe have a Group Policy in place that removes the shutdown button.
Have a read of this KB and see if it helps.

So; what difference does that make? Check the group-policy.
