I am using word 2003 and inserting comments in documents read by word 97 users. They say they cannot see the comments. How do I make this feature work?
For what it's worth, I can create a document in Word 2003 that contains
a comment, then open the document in Word 97, and I see the comment in
the usual 97 way. That is, my initials are highlighted in yellow where
the comment is in the text, I can hover over the initials to see the
comment, and I can choose View > Comments to see the comments pane.
Do your Word 97 users see the highlighted initials? What do they see in
the View > Comments pane?
