Show Quick Launcher won't STICK

Start/properties/taskbar/show quick launch when checked does no
longer appear next time I boot up. I have to re-check it every
session. Most annoying.

This seemed to start after the last three XP Security updates
this week for some inexplicable reason.

Any ideas as to what I can do...registry hack or what????

Nope. That problem is caused by poor software being installed and
therefore, it may show up again the other day.
