Show Hidden Files or not, when running Malware

Hi. I need advice about running Spyware Blaster, Spybot, Ad-Aware,
CWShredder, etc. Is it better to go to
Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options,View, and select "Show Hidden
Files", or " Do Not Show Hidden Files"?
Not sure if these removal programs would search Hidden Files or not. I do
run these files in Safe Mode. Also is there a specific order that they
should be ran in? Thanks Kindly.

I think they should scan according to the settings in the individual
programs independent of the show hidden files option.

Spyware Blaster does not do scans, so don't worry about that. As to the
others, there really isn't much difference. CWShredder can be run at
any time. I usually run Adaware first, since it's less aggressive than
Spybot so let it remove all the nasties it finds. Then when Spybot runs
it will find fewer issues and there is less to scroll through to decide
if you want to remove those.

If you system is severly infested with spyware, I would turn hidden files on
and run the tools from SafeMode.

I'd presume the spyware tools would scan hidden files whether you are
able to view them or not.

As far as these programs are concerned, it doesn't matter. I am
personally always in favor of showing hidden files, but it has
nothing to do with running anti-spyware programs.
