Show Desktop icon not functioning

The "Show Desktop" icon is not working.
I tried removing and re-creating the "Show Desktop.scf" file and moving it
to Quick Launch folder, but still it does nothing.
I tried re-assiciating the SCF file type with "Windows Exlporer Command"
still nothing...
Any ideas?

Thanks

This .scf file should have the following lines inside:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

That's right. But still it does nothing.
I tired it a couple of times. No changes.

Click Start, Run and type (or copy & paste) the command:
regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32
The Show Desktop SCF file should now be available.

I had tried this command before. The problem is that I have the correct SCF
file. It just does nothing.

Yes, the Win Key+D works. Also right-clicking on the Task Bar and "Show Desk
Top/Open Windows" works.
Just the icon does not work...

It works. Thanks a lot.
I tried to associate the .SCF file type through Folder Options...not
successful.
Me registery was and still is pretty messed up.
I guess it happened after I used a registery cleaner software.

Thank you again.

Perhaps the .SCF file association fix will do the trick?

If not, do you have Zone Alarm installed?

Ramesh's suggestion worked. Registery was corrupted.
It happened after I used a registery cleaning software.

Thank you.
