should i uninstall norton

i have downloaded avg7_free.should i uninstall norton before i install avg or
does it not matter.
 
Yes, by all means uninstall Norton first. Two AV programs on the same
computer can create problems.

Yes, never have 2 antivirus programs installed at once.

Uninstall Norton, or any other AV software before you install any other
AV software - reboot also.

Yes, and you need to pay careful instructions from Symantec as to how to
remove norton. It can be very difficult to remove that stuff.

Removing Norton can be as pain as Jim said..... don't be tempted t
remove this and remove that manually

If you have the Installation disc run the SymNRT removal tool or dow
load it from their site, running the disc to un-install can mak
things easier

After using SymNRT I like to scan for Symantec and NIS200# after t
make sure there is no files left behind.... problem is though Norto
share many files making removall a pain and you do have to b
careful

You'll find your computer runs a lot more 'zippier' with AVG onc
Norton has been removed. You'll see one or two post about Symante
under 'Software' in the index section
