Have an HP Media Center PC running Windows XP Media Edition for about a year.
Hard drive is partitioned into C: and D: with D: containing automatic backup.
D: is 6 Gigs in size and has 913 Mb of free space left. Should I worry or
will Windows handle this as I approach a full D:?

No, windows will not handle it when you run out of room...

if your C: drive is much larger than you need
you can repartition with a 3rd party utility such as partition magic.
but you cannot repartition from within windows (without destroying data)
or else just add a second drive
