Should I delete this...

Just ran SpyBot and it recommended removal of the following as a
security risk:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\security
center\antivirusoverride=dword:0

Should or shouldn't I remove?

Thyanks.

Neither. Right click on it and choose don't detect this again or something
like that.

No, it is not a security risk. If SpyBot is reporting it as such then it
needs to have its patterns updated. That key tells the SP2 security center
that it needs to monitor your AntiVirus software to make sure it is
properly keeping you safe by staying up-to-date with virus pattern
definitions.

As others have responded, this registry entry is not a problem. Spybot
probably detects this to satisfy those who compare spyware detectors by
number of "hits".

The Spybot S&D forums explain why this is.

Thank you all for your help. This "risk" came up just after I had
updated definitions. I run SB at least weekly, and sometime more often,
and this is the first time that this "risk" message came up. I run XP,
free AVG and free Zone Alarm...all of which are routinely updated and
run. Strange that this is the first time this "risk" came up, eh?

Sounds alot like spying to me.

No, not strange. This detection has only been included in S&D since their
last definitions update.

The Spybot S&D forums explain why this happens. And it's not spying.
