Is there some way to refresh the contents of a folder w/o going to View?

F5 seems to be effective.

Yes. F5 refreshes. In win Explorer, sometimes you have to select the parent
folder first. F5 works in nearly all programs to refresh the screen.
Sometimes it'll appear a new folder isn't there too, because it's been
put as the last folder in the pane. It'll stay there until you refresh, or
close/open windows explorer.

Often you'll find excellent advice on a newsgroup.
Before you use that advice though, consider the
ramifications of it being wrong or even dangerous;
how important IS that to you?
ALWAYS verify and confirm ANY advice from a
newsgroup!
