Shockwave Flash Files (SWF) - Interoperability PPT X and PPT 2003

Hi all,

at my company its presentation time and I have 2 questions... Maybe
some clever person can give me hand.

Here's the first:

I want to interst an swf file that I have created into Powerpoint X.
No problem here. That works fine. I suppose that my interactive
-.swf file will work fine too, once I'm that far.

But, here's the catch. Quicktime will apparently support interactive
-.swf files. See this link:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tools_tips/tutorials/interactive.html
But -.avi files will not, according to the PPT 2003 website. This is
a big advantage for us MAC users.

But, I work in an office with PC users. Is it somehow possible to
ensure that my interactive shockwave animations will work in both PPT
X and PPT 2003? Can we use a Quicktime Plug-In for PPT 2003 instead
of the Windows media player maybe?

Cheers, John

I wouldn't use the Quicktime plug-in for the SWF animations, as PC PPT
and QT don't really play well together.

Does PPT on the Mac support using an Active X control? If so, I'd go
that route, as I know it will work on the PC also.
http://www.flashgeek.com has instructions for how to embed a SWF into PC
PPT using an Active X control.
