shift key lock?????

over the weekend i encountered a problem. all of a sudden
my computer started acting funny. i was typing in all
capitals and could not get a comma or period to appear. i
thought the shift key was stuck but when i held it for 8
seconds the normal shortcut menu popped up. when i am on
the internet my scroll wheel does not work and the page
highlights from the top to where i click. please help me.

Try System Restore to roll back to a date when the computer was working
correctly. Go to Start->Help and Support->Pick a task and click the System
Restore link.
