SHELL32.DLL

I am having a problem opening IE. It is giving me an
error about the shell32.dll file. The file is there. It
is in c:\windows\system, so i know the file is not
missing.

Does anyone have any advice on how to solve this problem?

p.s. I am not positive that the IE version is 6.0

You can check the Internet Explorer version in the IE Help menu > About box.

As for the shell32.dll error, check these MS-KBs.

Thanks for the reply. I had previously checked those
sites while searching the microsoft support site. The
only concern i had, was that the windows version for this
fixes are 95 and 98, and the machine with the problem is
windows ME.

Will these fixes work with ME, or should i try something
else?

It might work for Windows ME as well. Before that backup the registry by exporting the registry to a file & by using Scanreg command.
