shell32.dll error during setup

I keep receiving a error message that shell32.dll did not
install correctly during setup. I've swapped the
installation disks and the cd drives to no avail. I am
running a 1GHz AMD, 256MB SDRAM, and 30GB ATA/100 Hard
drive. Thoughts? A10

Examine the Windows XP CD and make sure it is absolutely "pristine clean"
with no scratches, fingerprints or smudges. Use a mild non-ammonia based
household cleaning solution and a soft cloth to clean it. Then try installing
again. If you still have a problem, use the following procedure to copy
the Windows XP CD to your hard drive:

I had the same erorr message.When i reduced the size of my cpu from a 3ghz to
a 1.1ghz it loaded fine.So my problem was the cpu.It may not be the same
problem but i would try it.
