I have a similar problem with IE 5.0. I receive the same
message in the title bar at the top. I have not been able
to resolve but if you open Windows explorer and in the
right hand side, there is an icon of internet explorer.
Click on this and see if you can get to the internet.

FINALLY!! I have a fix. After spending 2 hrs on the phone
with Dell..I fixed it myself. If you have or have EVER
had KaZaa, that's the problem. Apparently even after you
uninstall it leaves parasited all over your system. Go to
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/...kazaabegone.zip and
run the kazaabegone program. I ran it, rebooted and all
is well!!!

The general solution to this kind of problem is the spyware scanning program, Ad-Aware. Free version
available here:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

If you install any shareware or freeware at all, you need something like this. I find spyware
running on my machine every month or so, and figuring out a specific fix in each case is a pain.

It seems that in order to fix this problem (of parasites) you have to
download something such as the kazaabegone program. My question is:
if you can't connect to the internet because of this problem, how can
you download to fix it?

Help and suggestions appreciated!!!

Cecil,
KazaaBegone is only about 60 KB. I've just sent it to your e-mail address.
