All my comps use XP Pro. I have set up sharing NOT using
simple file sharing and have given permission to all users
on my computer. When I try to log on to my computer from a
different computer, which has none of the same user names
or p.w.'s, my computer does not prompt the other one's to
put in a new uname and p.w. that has acces on my machine,
it just denies access. Can anyone help me with this.
Thanks.

try this:
start, run, gpedit.msc
computer configuration, windows settings, security settings, local policies,
security options, (right hand side) Network access: Sharing and security
model for local accounts, set to Guest only - local users authenticate as
guest
