Sharing Outlook Calendar and Contacts with two users on a windows

We have Windows Server 2000 with out Exchange and are using Outlook 2000 on
XP Pro computer. Two users want to share their Calander and Contact
information across the network. Is there a way to do this with out having
Exchange?

If you are on a network, why isn't there a way to share it by way of putting
the files on the server and sharing them that way? If this is possible, what
files do you place on the share folder on the network?
 
It isn't possible to share that way since a PST file isn't able to be opened
by two users at the same time.
