sharing files on network

Hi

I have in the past sucessfully shared files over my network

I am now struggling with my new laptop and desktop.
I have right clicked a few folders I wish to share on the desktop PC.

I made sure both machines are on the MSHOME domain name, that works fine.
When going onto my laptop I can see my pc name on the domain when I double click I get this window that asks for a username and password, how do I know what this is? I don't remember setting anything up!

Laptop = Windows Media Centre Edition

Desktop = Windows XP Pro

I don't have any firewalls installed or AV at the moment. Only got inbuilt windows xp firewall,

How do I work out the username and password so I can access my files?

i did have a look there it looked a little complicated
what ive just done is set up a password on the desktop

i typed it into that window and its working
now


i guess its more secure now too, is there any point in trying to work out how to do all this without a password?
