sharing connection

I installed a second network adapter to share my dsl with
my playstation. The icon shows a red "x" stating a cable
is diconnected. Swapping the dsl cable between the two
ports changes where the x appears so I am certain the
card is good. I have followed all of the wizards for
setting up a network, no help.
The computer that I am wanting to share the connection
from to the ps2 is at the end of my home network of 4
computers connected through a full hub (that is why I am
trying to share from the computer rather than running a
new line).
Any ideas for a simple fix or am I trying to do the
undoable?

Sounds like you might need a crossover cable, from the 2nd NIC to the Game.
Only a guess.
