I want to configure my notebook (Windows XP 5.1.2600) to serve as a host for
my PS2 to piggyback onto the internet. Basically its a long way from my PS2
to the cable/DSL modem downstairs, I don't have an ethernet wire that long;
not a problem for my wireless enabled laptop, I use a LINKSYS wireless-g
54kbs wireless router. I assume I should be able to harness the internet
signal my PC recieves and share it for my PS2.
On the laptop under Advanced System Info it lists a network card so I assume
I should be able to start a network. I tried to plug the playstation ethernet
connection into the ethernet connection of the laptop. Nothing goes for the
PS2.
I've tried to use the Network Setup Wizard, as well as the Wireless Network
Setup Wizard to configure the laptop to serve as a network Host to
theoretically share the internet signal. It hasn't worked. The NSWizard
program tells me an error has occurred and it is unable to set up the
network, while the WNSWizard tells me it has set up a network that I can't
seem to find.
What am I doing wrong? What can I do? i'm sure that my computer is able to
serve as a host signal for other computers to connect to the internet.
