Hi,

Can enyone help me with sharing network connection problem.

Computer 1 runs on XP
Computer 2 runs on Win2000
Both of them run under same workgroup.

This is what I have done so far:
1. On Computer 1 I already had Lan Card through which I am connected on
Internet, as Local Area Connection (LAN A)
2. I added 1x Lan card which is visible Local Area Connection 2 (LAN B)
3. Then I conected Comp. 1&2 with a cross-over cable. (I Have tryed 2
diferent cables)
4. Then I shared connection on Local Area Connection (LAN A), which
automaticly set the IP address on LAN B 192.168.0.1.
5.On Comp 2 I set the IP addres as follows: IP 192.168.0.11; Subnet M.
255.255.255.0; Gateway 192.168.0.1.

-On both computers taskbars for LAN connection shows the connection as GOOD
and that few packets sent and received.
-When I try to ping each other then I dont receive annything.
-I disabled LAN A and attepted to ping both computers from LAN B as only
active LAN -but same problem.

I think it is problem with Cables but I am confused with network icons on
taskbars of both computers.

--Can annyone tel me where the problem is??

You need to start by enabling DHCP on Computer 2, and seeing if it gets an IP
address from ICS ("shared connection") on Computer 1.

If Computer 2 gets a 192.168.0/24 address, then you need to look for any
firewalls on both computers.

If Computer 2 doesn't get a DHCP address, then check the network cards on both
computers, and other physical networking problems.
