Chris

I recently bought a new hard drive for my pc. Windows XP
is now installed on the new hard drive. I tried to copy
over my files and documents from my user folder onto the
new hard drive but i couldn't.
This is because i had enabled the make folders private on
my user on the old hard drive. however i can now not copy
them onto my new user as the error message "not
accessible" is displayed.
does any1 no how i can get round this problem and copy
over my files.

P.S i changed my hard drive because the boot sector of
the old hard drive was damaged

Read how to take ownership in Help and Support center. Your old disk has
security IDs that are not recognized on your new system install.

In future, if your boot sector is damaged, you can easily fix it with
the Recovery Console "fixboot" command.
