Sharing and Security - "No Preview Available"

O folder full of jpeg files was protected by a former user (XP Pro). The
user was deleted from system but the folder wasn´t "liberated" before user
was deleted. We managed to access the folder using
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421, but when we
try to open the files (jpg) in Windows Picture and Fax Viwer, we get "No
Preview Available" error msg. Also, files cannot be deleted and we get a
Access is denied msg if trying to delete.

One suggestion received was to save files and other work data, format HD,
reinstall XP and files, but no guarantee that files would then be
accessible. Any other, simpler, suggestions/comments?

Why post a stupid link, 119KBytes of useless data when you could have said
"I took ownership" (0.013% of the bandwidth). Type file permissions in help
and give yourself some access to it. You could also type Taking Ownership in
help.
