I have networked an XP machine and an ME machine
On the XP there is a USB Epson 680 set up for shared printing.
Sharing files is working fine - I have Nortons firewall on
both machines that is configured for access for both
machines - problem still happens if I disable firewall on
both machines
When I try to print to it from the ME machine
I get the following error message with the dialogue box
titled PRINTERS FOLDER
"There was an error writing to \\STUDYPC\Printer for
printer [EPSOM Stylus COLOR 680]:
The access code is invalid
The printer will be set to work offline.
To save your print job in the local printer queue, click OK"
I have searched the knowledge base and not found anything
relevant except a similar problem but with a specific HP
printer - which needed registry editing - which I didn't
want to do if it was not relevant to the Epsom
Any pointers anyone can give will be geratly appreciated
regards
Mike
