shared printer

I have a printer installed as local on the Destop computer and shared it.
Then I added this
printer on the Laptop computer as a network one.
It shows up well in the list, even the status is reported as Ready.
However an attempt to print cause no reaction in the system.
Again, if in the Print window I select "Find Printer" it finds it.

Trying to right-click on the printer and select Properties results in a
message:

"Printer properties cannot be displayed. Operation could not be completed"

What should I look at?

Did you install the correct drivers for the printer? Try to uninstall,
reboot and reinstall the drivers and see if this helps.
