Shared email To-Do Bar/Shares email rules

Is there a way so that if I assign a follow up to an email in a shared email
inbox that it will add that to my To-Do Bar like it does for my personal
inbox.

Also, I can only seem to apply rules to a shared inbox by running the rules
rather than have the rules constantly being applied when email comes into the
shared inbox.

1) No.

2) That is because the rules have been created for the main mailbox. Create
a separate mail profile with the secondary mailbox now set as the primary
mailbox. This will require full mailbox access assigned by your mail admin.

As an alternative, depending on the rule required, your current access
rights and version of Exchange, you could create the rule via OWA.
