hi,

i am wondering how to setup XP home, on a clean formatted
harddisk, so that the cdrom is not needed at all during
setup. i know that i need to copy the i386 folder to a
windows folder at the root. but when i try to run the
setup program, i get a message about some program called
smartdisk or something being required. how do i start this
program and get setup to work right?

thanks,
john

try and get a hold of a w98 boot floppy (www.bootdisk.com) and start your
system with that. It will load smartdsk for you and then you can switch to
your i386 folder to start the xp install.
