My hdd is 40gb and installing on ibm A21m laptop.I 've
installed Windows 98 and it worked fine, but when
installing Wndows 2000 i get the following message.
"Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be
damaged. Make sure the drive is switched on and properly
connected to your computer. If the disk is a SCSI disk,
make sure your SCSI devices are properly terminated.
Consult your computer or SCSI adapter documentation for

Hi,

You can try to launch a CHKDSK (checkdisk) on the disk to repair dirty bits
if there is some.

The other solutions are, as specified in the error message:
"to Make sure the drive is switched on and properly
connected to your computer.
If the disk is a SCSI disk, to make sure your SCSI devices are properly
terminated.
to Consult your computer or SCSI adapter documentation for more
information".
