Setup reboots to a blank screen

I am installing Windows XP Professional. Previously,
Windows 98 was on the machine, and it had been upgraded
to Windows XP Pro. I attempted a clean install of
Windows XP Pro. It gets through the install until it has
to reboot, then it shows the Windows XP splash screen,
then a blank screen. I also installed Windows 98 back on
the machine and attempted an upgrade and got the same
results. Thanks.

See if you can boot to safe mode. If you can, go to device
manager and disable the video card. Then boot up normally
and download the appropriate drivers for your card from
the manufacturers website.

It turns out it was a BIOS issue. I flashed new BIOS
code from Intel, and it worked great. Thanks for the
help!
