Hi,
In my laptop the setup is provided with password which is not known
to me.After go through some details I try with some standard passwords and
then I remove the RTC battery also. When I restart the system, found that the
problem is not solved. Can anyone suggest me the next step please?

Since you didn't tell us what make/model laptop you have, all I can
suggest is that you contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for help.
With some laptops there is a backdoor password or a technique that an
end user can do to remove the BIOS-level password(s). With other
laptops, you need to send the laptop to the mftr. because an actual chip
on the motherboard (EEPROM) will have to be reprogrammed.

Wait a second. This cannot be. When you buy a laptop you can get in without
a password or you type your user name and then you set up the password.

When you steal a laptop it is a different story. then the password is
unknown.

We all buy computers but we don't buy lies.
