Hello,
I have laptop without a cd drive, only a floppy drive.
I have made the W2K setup disks from another machine but I am unable to
complete the installation because I get the message that setup is unable to
continue because no CD drive is detected. I do have a usb connection with a
usb CD but I get the same message.
Can you help me ?

You could try to install over the network instead....

Copy the installation files to a share on another computer. create a
boot floppy with ndis2 network drivers , connect to the share using
net use and then start the install over the network...

Or boot from another platform the supports your nic, can connect to a
network resource holding the installation files and execute the winnt
or winnt32 application...

If you have a RIS Server on your network you can also use that for
installing the operating system over the network. There are also other
thirdparty PXE solutions that can do that.
