I RECENTLY PURCHASE WINDOWS XP OPERATING SYS, AND
INSTALLED IT ON MY PC. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO INSTALL I WAS
RUNNING WINDOWS 98, WITH OFFICE XP, NOW THAT I'VE
INSTALLED WINXP OP SYS, I CAN'T SET UP WORD, EXCELL,
OUTLOOK, OR OTHER OFFICE PROGRAMS...CAN ANYONE HELP, WITH
SOME GOOD SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RETRIEVE OR SET
UP EXISTING PROGRAMS?

whats the actual problem you are having? You might be better asking in a
more relevant group also.

Pop in your Office XP CD, then follow the prompts. By the way,
your CapsLock key is stuck. Writing messages all in capitals
is called "shouting" in newsgroup, and is not much appreciated.

Perhaps if you would stop SCREAMING AT IT LIKE YOU JUST DID US, the computer
might listen to you. All caps is not the way to get attention, it is hard
to read and often considered rude.

It is entirely possibly you did not do an upgrade, but a parallel
installation. It is also possible that something went awry with the upgrade
and you will need to reinstall the Office applications from the original
media.

When you power on the machine from "cold", do you have the choice of two
OS's? If so, you may have performed a parallel installation. This either
means you boot back into Windows 98 and perform the upgrade from there (no
need to boot from the CD) or it means you keep the Windows XP Installation
you have and reinstall all of your applications from their original
installation media.

Otherwise something may have gone awry in the upgrade process and you just
need to insert the media for the applications giving you the trouble and
reinstall them.
