setting up office outlook from outlook express

I'm trying to use office as my default account but my mail keeps going to my
previously set up outlook express.
i can't set up office with the same incoming server etc. as it says the
account already exsists
can i delete my express account in order to use Office

No you cannot delete OE. It's part of Windows & Outlook needs it to work. You
must set up Outlook (not Office) with your correct POP mail settings that
were supplied by your ISP. You cannot use Outlook with Hotmail or other web
based email. In Outlook, choose Tools, Accounts, New Acct. Then set up your
POP mail and test it. After setup--Choose Outlook as your default in Internet
Options, Programs. Open OE, Accts and choose "Leave mail on server." Then you
can use either program.
